Venice Beach...where the freaks come out to play.

The main sign at Venice should really say.... Venice the worlds weirdest hobo's live here.. caution.

So on a random Wednesday we had off from school. And we decided to spend that day venturing around Venice Beach.

We were kinda excited to be there.

Of course we werent there 2 mins before we were hit on, insulted , grabbed and sang to.
The song was quite nice too...it went a little something like this.
" I wanna play with some of that tourist booty"
He did a nice grinding sort of dance too.
Charming.

I loved the little shops along the boardwalk. They had the most interesting things and for so cheap. Hats, shirts, sunglasses.

Even these hats. (Note: Not as fab as Dave's )
And it wouldnt be Venice Beach without these shops every couple feet.
That's right a Kush Dr. This is one of those shops where you go in and tell a random "doctor" on a tv screen how you "cant sleep, or have anxiety or back pain" and then they give you a nice little script for weed.
I have no comment on this one.

Having had enough of the people on the Venice boardwalk we walked down to the water.
Very different from the florida beaches. It was freezing!! And the water was a dark blue gray color.

We then had a photoshoot on the beach.

We grabbed some lunch at this cute little resturant

Im glad i got to experience Venice. It was exactly what i thought it would be. Rollerblading muscle heads. Hobo's, People selling everything imaginable, and weirdos. I think its suck in the 80's but the view is beautiful.

R.I.P Jimbo Marshall

There was one thing that was more important that i do in Los Angeles then anything else.
That was going and seeing Uncle Jimbo's plaques on Santa Monica Blvd.
When Jimbo died his good friend Sharon bought a few plaques in front of his favorite spots in West Hollywood. So while grandma was still in town we bought some flowers and some candles and took a drive out there to see them.

It was a very emotional day but im really glad we finally got to see them.

Jimbo you are missed dearly. You have no idea. I wish more than anything you were still alive to be out in LA with me. To look after me and just to have a piece of family by my side. I miss you and love you <3

How you do that stinky

If i had to pick my favorite day in Los Angeles, this would be it. It might have been one of my favorite days ever.

Okay so, going back a week Jasmin and I became friends with a guy named Moses. Who was friends with a guy named Dave. One night Moses called and said he was over at Dave's house ( who lives in our complex) and to head over. We hung out with them for a while and over heard them talking about how they were shooting a music video that coming weekend. Next thing we knew we were being offered to do the makeup for the shoot. And the rest is history.

Sat. Sept 19 we got up bright and early and headed over to the studio with Dave and Colby to begin the shooting. The video was a parody on all the recent dances (ex. The dougie, the jerk) and used celebrity look alikes.

It was this day on set that i realized that this is exactly what i wanted to do with my life.

As lame as it sounds it was the coolest thing to see my name on the call sheet.

Yassy and i super excited :)

Some of our finished products.

"Lil Wayne"
"Drake"

"Nikki Minaj"
This is Dave, and yes his shoes have wings on them. Dave is the director of this music video. I loved watching him work. He is so talented and made the whole shooting process a blast.
He also became a very important part of my life out in LA. One of those people who can change a whole experience.

Once everyone was all touched up they were ready to shoot. Here are some shots of the awesome day.

This is Moses. Or as i like to call him Jesus Moses Greatest Person Ever. By far the funniest and most entertaining person iv ever met.
Moses really isnt in a wheelchair and has two working legs. He just felt the need to pretend he didnt have legs and wheel himself around for a portion of the day.
It was hysterical to watch. Especially if you knew how afraid Dave is of wheelchair.
All in all, Mosey's got a one way ticket to hell.
And for some reason these hats became the obsession of the day..

Everyone wanted to wear them.

I cant even explain how amazing this day was. I had the best time ever with everyone on set. It was a day i will never forget.

Here's the finished product of the video. Watch for it on MTV's The Seven weekdays at 5pm

I wanna see your Peacock...

6 am came way to early... I moaned and groaned but eventually got up out of bed. This didnt change after the first day of school. You'd think that my body would get used to waking up at that time after a while. Not a chance.
Probably the best thing about my school was that we werent allowed to wear makeup to school. Being that we would be applying it all day during school. This saved me a solid 40 mins each morning. So basically all i had to do was roll out of bed eat get dressed attempt to do something with my hair and walk out the door. Oh and then there was the fact that my school was literally on the other side of the apartment complex. A 30 sec walk at most.

This was the fabulous makeup we were required to buy for school. Actually this wasnt even half of it. But i tell ya sitting and playing with this makeup was like a dream come true.

At school we each had our own little station to set up. This was mine :)

Now i could make a blog for each time we learned something new in school but then i would be making pages and pages of blogs so to save myself the headache im just going to post pretty much all the pictures of things we learned in class.

Enjoy.

I cant even explain how much information was taught in a day. It was 8 hours 5 days a week of constant information and practice. It got tothe point where before and after lunch break felt like 2 seperate days. But i was loving every single minute of it.
